How we compare
WhichAgent compares AI coding agents and agent frameworks for developers deciding what to use. We don't accept payment for rankings or verdicts.
Where the data comes from
- Pricing, licenses, platforms and supported models come from each vendor's official pricing pages, docs and repositories. Every tool page lists its sources and the date we last verified them.
- GitHub stars, recent star growth and last commit dates are fetched automatically every day.
- Comparisons are written from these sources. Each one links the official pages it relies on, and status changes (acquisitions, renames, shutdowns) are checked against the vendor's own announcements.
Hands-on tests
Where a comparison includes a hands-on test, we give both tools the same task on the same repository and record whether it was completed, how long it took, how much it cost and how much correction it needed. Tested pages name the task, the tool and model versions, and the date of the run. Comparisons without a test say so.
Keeping pages current
AI tools change quickly. Every page shows when it was last updated or verified. When a tool's data or a comparison is more than 90 days old, the page says so until we re-verify it. Pricing pages warn sooner, after 45 days, because prices change more often.
Logos
Product names and icons belong to their owners. We show each product's official icon, taken from its website or GitHub organization, only to identify it in comparisons; it doesn't imply endorsement.
