What changed recently

Acquisitions, renames and shutdowns that most comparisons haven't caught up with.

  1. Microsoft archives AutoGen

    Discontinued

    The README now says AutoGen is no longer maintained, with no bug or security fixes. Microsoft Agent Framework is the successor.

  2. GPT-5.5 retired from Codex

    Changed

    Codex with ChatGPT sign-in moved to GPT-6.1 Sol on Plus and higher, and GPT-6 Luna on Free and Go.

  3. Cursor moves to The X Subscription

    Pricing

    New customers now buy Cursor through X's Free, Plus ($8), Premium ($30), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200) plans, which share one weekly usage pool with Grok. Existing Pro, Pro+ and Ultra plans keep working.

  4. Claude Max and Team plans add monthly API credits

    Pricing

    Max now includes $100 or $200 a month, and Team $20 or $100 per seat, for the API and Agent SDK. The credits don't cover interactive Claude Code.

  5. GPT-6 Sol and Luna come to Codex

    Paid plans got GPT-6 Sol, and ChatGPT Free and Go got GPT-6 Luna in the Codex desktop app.
